This blog was created by friends as a way for the Souzas to share Taylor's progress with us. Kristen and Sean have not asked for financial help, but their medical bills coupled with Kristen's loss of income is truly overwhelming. They are so appreciative of ALL of the different types of support they have received and are more grateful than you can know. Thank you!
Taylor is a beautiful, vibrant three-year-old girl who was recently diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. On June 18th, Taylor began an 8-10 month hospital stay. This blog will detail her journey back to good health!

Taylor and I woke up to disappointing news....her counts did not rise today.....she did not get to go home. She was very disappointed but was in good spirits by the end of the day. The RN's at PCH are amazing....every second they aren't working, they come in to play and talk to Taylor. She now paints all of the staff's nails.....she is actually getting really good at it.

I came home this afternoon to see Savannah and will go back to PCH tomorrow. Hopefully her counts will go up and she will be home by the end of the weekend.

Have a great weekend.
Love,
Kristen

  1. HI Guys~ Sorry to hear Taylor couldn't go home today~ hopefully her counts will rise soon! I could really use a manicure, maybe Taylor could do my nails sometime! So cute that she is doing everyone's nails at PCH! We are thinking of you guys as always, sending love and hugs!

  2. Hi Taylor,
I am sorry to hear that you are not going home tomorrow. However, I have a little secret for you. . .even though it is sometimes hard to nap, it helps you get stronger. Take your wise mommy's advice and you will be home playing with your sister in no time at all!

Thinking of you and your special family everyday,
    Jenn, Brad, Addy and Chase

  3. I gotta tell ya, Kristen, the kid has a future as a manicurist. She painted my nails so well yesterday. Used to be she painted up to my second knuckle! Although, she will probably not earn a lot of tips if she continues to insist on only painting the nails on one hand! Ha! Really great to see you two :)

Kristen & Team -- sounds like you are keeping your spirits and Taylor's up and going. That is a hard task all by itself! Maggie has been asking me to repaint her nails from our visit with you and Taylor, too funny. Sorry to hear about having to stay through the weekend. Enjoy your time at home.
